Examination Rules

Guidelines for the students

  1. Students are required to be aware of the Regulations relating examinations and other instructions relevant to their exam.
  2. Students should read carefully, the exam dates, time and place of the examination.
  3. Students must be present in the exam room on time, before the exam starts. If any student arrives late then, he/she will be permitted to appear for the exam only after the approval of the principal and will not be granted extra time.
  4. Students must have a valid ID card and Admit card to enter the examination room.
  5. Bags and other items must be placed in designated areas outside the room.
  6. Students should only have writing pads, pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener and measuring scale.
  7. Students are not allowed to leave the room until the exam is over.
  8. Students must stop writing when it is announced that the time is up. Students who do not stop writing when the time is up will not be allowed to hand in their paper.
  9. During the exam, any communication between the Students is strictly forbidden. All questions must be directed to the invigilators. A Student wishing to leave the exam room temporarily will be accompanied by an invigilator throughout the absence. Students may not communicate with anyone outside the exam room. Students must abide by the instructions of the invigilator.
  10. If there are any queries regarding the exam questions the Students must ask the invigilators who will contact the subject teacher. It is up to the teacher to decide, how the Information that is of relevance to the Students will be written on the board or handed out in writing to all Students.
  11. Students who are ill and unable to appear for the exam must submit a medical certificate no later than five days after the exam. If a medical certificate is not handed in within the deadline the Student will be registered as not having met for the exam and will have lost one exam attempt.
  12. Students wishing to hand in their answering sheets before the exam time is over, must stay in his/her seat waiting until all sheets have been checked by the invigilator, and leave the exam room only after the time is over.
  13. Cheating, and attempts at cheating, will immediately be reported to the Examination Office. Consequences of proven cheating or attempts at cheating will be dealt with separately by the principal.
  14. Students need to fill all the entries on the answer sheet in a neat & clean manner specially their name, roll number and class.

Guidelines for the teachers

  1. It is the duty of the class teacher to check that the student has got his/her no-dues done before handing over the admit card to the students.
  2. In no-case, the admit card be handed over to a defaulting student until unless a permission has been granted by the principal.
  3. The teacher should also make sure that the student’s total attendance criteria is satisfied before handing over the admit card to the student. If any student is not fulfilling the total attendance criteria than he/she needs to seek permission from the principal to appear for the examination.
  4. Teacher should clearly explain the format of the question paper and explain how to write/attempt the question paper.
  5. Teacher should explain the importance of the examination to the students and tell them not to miss their examination.
  6. Invigilators are not allowed to leave their room until the exam is over. If they need to, then they may seek the help of the relievers who will be roaming outside the rooms for their help.
  7. Invigilators need to properly arrange the answer sheet according to the roll number of the students, prepare their room’s summary sheet which includes details of total students, total absent and total present, attendance sheet, extra sheets and question papers and hand it over to the examination in-charge.
  8. Teachers need to get the answer sheet of their subjects, allotted from the examination in-charge and return the evaluated answer sheet along with the tabulation sheet within three working days for each class.(days to be counted excluding the day on which the answer sheets were allocated to the teacher.)
  9. Teacher need to fill all the entries on the answer sheet in a neat & clean manner and indicate the obtained marks clearly.
  10. All unused pages of the answer sheet need to be crossed by the teacher.
  11. After copy correction, the teachers need to cross check the marks and then show it to the students. Once the answer sheets have been shown to the students, the teacher may submit the answer sheets along with tabulation sheet to the examination in-charge.
  12. Class teachers need to maintain their own tabulation sheet that has the entries for all the unit tests and exams along with the grading for activities with them.
  13. Subject teachers also need to maintain their own tabulation sheet that has the entries for all the unit tests and exams along with the grading for activities with them.
